Model-Kit Shopping Checklist for Japan
Plan for the box, not only the kit. Size, condition and luggage space affect whether a purchase is worthwhile.
Before the store
- List exact grade, scale and edition names.
- Measure available luggage space and decide your box-condition standard.
- Set a budget that includes tools, accessories and baggage costs.
- Check official stock again on the day of travel.
Before paying
- Match the box name to your target and inspect for crushing or water damage.
- Confirm purchase limits and return conditions.
- Keep the receipt and protect small parts or limited extras.
- Do not buy paints, solvents or sharp tools without checking your carrier and destination rules.
Protect the trip
Set a maximum search time and a maximum luggage volume. A substitute kit that fits your route and baggage may be a better purchase than an uncertain target requiring a long detour.
